Our standard work top dimensions are 1.5" Thick by 25" Deep and come in 24", 36", 48", 72", 96", 120" or 144" Wide.

Maple workbench tops are perfect for the mechanic, woodworker or craftsperson. Use them to add flair and utility to your garage or workshop. Hardwood tops have many benefits. They are strong and durable and easily refinished. You can drill holes to fasten equipment to the bench. For those of you who work on electronic equipment, you don't have to worry about wood holding static.

Extreme’s workbench tops are crafted from finger-joined hard Maple, face glued to form a solid block. They have some surface imperfections such as closed knots, filled holes and dark colored maple. They have an eased edge and are finished with oil.

If you prefer, we can finish the top with a tough and durable 2-coat lacquer finish system. There is an upcharge for Lacquered tops of $75.00 per top. Standard bench tops are offered in 1 3/4" thickness and in a variety of sizes.

Terms you need to know:

Blonde – Selected light maple tones. or Varied – Unselected for color, utilizing the range of maple tones from beige to dark brown.

Two finishes are also available:

Oil and Beeswax - You will need to reapply oil frequently to keep your top in good condition (moisture barrier - Fair).

Lacquer Finish - Is great for garage bench tops, table tops and desks or for kitchen counters where you won't be cutting (moisture barrier - Best).

Eased Edge - All standard tops are finished with an eased edge – the sharp edges are removed.

Woods

Hard Maple, Cherry (both American and Brazilian), Walnut, Teak, Birdseye Maple, Mahogany and Oak are just some of the woods that you can choose from - either alone or in combination. The tops can be made of finger joined or solid rails.

Shapes

Does your design call for a curve, circle, oval or irregular shape? Provide the dimensions or a template and Extreme can create a custom shape. Sink and stove cutouts can be done if a template is provided.

Edge Treatments

Jazz up your top with a special edge treatment – from the simple to the ornate.

Sizes

Extreme can craft butcher block tops up to 16 feet long and 50 inches wide in one piece. Larger tops can be created by joining smaller tops together in a variety of ways, including glued joints augmented with tite joint fasteners (metal bolts inserted into the bottom of the product) and biscuits.
